    Responsible for opening and developing the West Coast sales region for the Maintech SBU. Managed a three person team of services delivery & training specialists for IT Infrastructure Automation. Duties included pre-sales, sales and post-sales support for IT Infrastructure Services offerings, fiscal/budgetary planning, and training/services delivery. Built $750+k/yr external consulting/licensing/education practice in less than 2 years. Developed strategic partnerships at Platinum level with Altiris, Inc. and Symantec, Inc. Built a training facility for internal & external consumption in partnership with both Altiris, Inc. and Symantec, Inc. Created IT infrastructure offerings that included consulting (direct and sub-contract), licensing and education of automation/endpoint technologies. Established all processes & procedures needed to support the West Coast Sales Region.

    Responsible for Volt’s 400+ server infrastructure in 9 data centers worldwide. Managed a staff of 8-10 employees for day-to-day operations and projects for an enterprise of 5000+ users. Instrumental in developing and maintaining the $9- $14 million West Coast budget process. Implemented automation technology, processes and instituted ITIL practices such that server infrastructure passed SOX auditing the first year. Developed, set, and implemented policies and standards for server monitoring and maintenance. Reduced infrastructure costs 20% by introducing and implementing a server consolidation and virtualization project. Championed, deployed, and managed Altiris’ Total Management Suite to the Volt IT infrastructure globally. Implemented state-of-the-art test methodology for ‘live environment’ testing. This resulted in radically reduced project, test, and implementation times for deployment and/or upgrades of new systems, applications or upgrades in-place.

    Responsible for developing, testing and implementing Volt’s IT business continuity/disaster recovery plan (BCP/DRP) for the global IT infrastructure. Managed a small core team for the development process and a much larger multi-SBU task force of 30+ individuals for the testing & implementation phases. Instrumental in creation, deployment and on-going policy management of formal IT Change Control Board & Processes. Responsible for worldwide rollout of Altiris Recovery Solution for Servers which saved the company $400,000+ in hard costs alone the first year. Simultaneously improved data retention quality, dramatically reduced time for data restoration and moved the burden to do so from Tier 3 System Engineers to Tier 1 Helpdesk Support personnel. It also provided branch locations with a real-time disaster recovery site with no additional costs. Created the vendor/SBU relationships, processes and procedures to successfully implement the BCP/DRP for once a year testing.

    Responsible for Volt’s large-scale, multi-million dollar IT infrastructure projects. Managed a multi-SBU team and external contractors of 30+ individuals for the projects. Direct accountability for a $4.2 million dollar project budget. Delivered two large infrastructure rollouts to VIS branches worldwide on time and saved the company just under $1 million off the initial budget through my championing and adopting infrastructure automation tools. The first was a wide-area-network rollout to 230+ branch offices worldwide, including hardware procurement, configuration, and installation. Installed all new circuits and DSL backups for the larger locations. Developed all troubleshooting/support documentation for IT support staff for transition. Simultaneously performed a branch (same 230+) & corporate hardware/operating system desktop refresh. Using Altiris’ Client Management Suite automation tools to move the desktop from Win 95, Win 2000, and Win 98 directly to Windows XP. This was done with no data loss and the users hardly knew they had a new OS. Very little productivity loss associated with this project. Negotiated the vendor contracts with AT&T, HP vendor & Cisco vendor for the equipment and Altiris for the automation software.
