The Tokyo branch profits were derived from lending to the biggest Japanese companies, issuing bankers acceptances to finance Japanese oil imports, trading foreign exchange and mismatched funding of the multi-currency loan portfolio.First Chicago was selected by the Arab Banks to designate the Founder and President of UBAF Arab American Bank. Mr. Woelflein was selected and transferred to New York City to undertake the formation and management of the New York State Chartered Bank, Member of the Federal Reserve and FDIC.
