The role requires a focused approach to process optimisation, implementation of the operational excellence strategy and final product quality in-line with international standards. In addition, the role involves the following:- Provide technical insights and support, in respect to feasibility studies related to new business development and investment in fishing and processing plant;-Provide business analyses and data management support to inform business unit strategies;-Provide technical support to fishing and processing operations in respect to product quality, operational efficiencies, and risk management;-Engage directly with customers in respect of meeting product quality requirements and addressing complaints;-Ensure that food safety standards in canned fish and fishmeal processing are met; ensure compliance by processing units to global legal and regulatory standards such as HACCP, FEMAS, GMP-Verification of packaging, product suppliers, raw material suppliers against established food safety standards;-Provide technical input into new product development (NPD) to ensure effective operationalization from concept to implementation;-Plan, implement and drive process optimisation projects that leads to cost efficiencies in operations;-Ensure that global sustainability certifications e.g. IFFO-RS are maintained;-Actively serve on relevant industry bodies within the fishing industry, with a particular focus on engagement with government stakeholders, scientists, and fish resource managers;-Attendance and presentation at relevant international technical conferences;
