    Security Officer: ACTEDDUTIES:• Carrying out regular assessment of Security conditions in Lake and Jonglei state, as well as ad hoc during assessment missions.• Update local security plan as appropriate and share with Juba and all local staffs.• Ensure that the safety standards of Acted staff (International and Local) are high.• Ensure a high level security of all ACTED assets, property and resources within ACTED sphere of influence and context of operations.• Accountable for compliance of ACTED security and safety guidelines.• Represent ACTED’s security needs in meetings with humanitarian, military, community Mingkaman town, lake state and IDP), police and other actors.• Share security updates with Acted staff.• Ensure the safety and effective use of all ACTED staff, assets and property updates in the area.• Security briefings for all incoming ACTED staff with follow-up periodically when applicable.• Direct management of security guards/contracting company.• Holds keys to hibernation kits, carries out regular checks on hibernation kits and order replacement stock through logistics function.• Report any damage to perimeter fence, warehouse or other structures to infrastructure team.• Complete SIR (Security Incident Report form) following any security incident and report to coordination, Juba and HQ.• File police reports in cases of criminal activity and follow up as appropriate; Responsible for complying with all the reporting requirements within the FLATS procedure.• Focal point for radio communications at the compound, carry out regular radio checks with staff outside the compound.

    General Functions:The Security Assistance report directly to the Field Security Officer (FSO) in Juba and liaise closely with the Head of Sub-Office in Renk/Malakal/Bentiu/Wau.He provides support to the Head of Sub-Office in ensuring the effective functioning of the key IOM units and procedures that directly impact the safety and security of the staff and assets.Duties and Responsibilities:1- Liaise and cooperate as instructed with various government agencies in keeping well maintained lines of communications, Suggest improvements to HSO and FSO as required.2-Provide area specific safety and security briefings to IOM staff deployed the duty including Situational briefing, radio-checks, convoy security and tracking and existing emergency procedures.3-Conduct regular safety and security checks of the IOM office building, ensuring office staff are following proper security procedures, and conduct fire equipment checks as per schedule, and to support the HSO and admin assistant to conduct regular fire drill.4- Attend security coordination meetings conducted by the UNDSS or other institutions and follow up on issue affecting the safety and security of IOM staff and asset.5-Facilitate on behalf of IOM staff in duty station for security clearance and ensure their timely delivery/processing with UNDSS and conduct debriefing for all convoys who return from the field on all issues relating to security.6-Serve as a member of the UN area Security Cell.7-Alert the HSO and FSO on all the security threats or potential security risks that might affect the IOM office at duty station and assist the HSO in relocation and crisis management situations, this will includes maintaining and updating IOM Renk staff/dependents lists in coordination with the Admin Assistant.8-Provide continuous supervision of security guards based at the office and IOM guest houses at Duty station, communicate to and resolve any deficiencies/misconduct with the guard force management and HSO.
