      I am the head of RPC's media team. I have advised on libel, privacy and other claims against the media for over 20 years. I am instructed on a regular basis by Associated Newspapers Limited (Mail, Mail on Sunday and Mail Online), Mirror Group, News UK (The Sun, Times and Sunday Times), the Financial Times, Google, Independent News & Media, Telegraph Media Group, the Evening Standard, Guardian News & Media, and other UK and international newspaper publishers. I also act for a number of media liability insurers. Recent cases include Henry v News Group (Court of Appeal, 2012); Tamiz v Google, Inc (Court of Appeal, February 2013); AAA v Associated Newspapers (Court of Appeal, May 2013); the successful defence at trial of Peter Abbey's alleged email hacking case against the publisher of the Evening Standard (Tugendhat J, November 2012); advice to Associated Newspapers on the Leveson Inquiry (2011 – 2013); and advice to the former BBC Director-General, George Entwistle, on the Pollard Review into the abortive Newsnight investigation into Jimmy Saville (2012). I am currently advising Mirror Group on the phone hacking claims against them by Sven-Goran Eriksson and others. I am the principal author and editor of The Privacy Law Handbook (Law Society Publishing, 2011) and havecontributed to The Freedom of Information Handbook, 3rd edition (Law Society Publishing, 2012). In January 2013 I was named as one of The Lawyer Magazine's 'Hot 100'.
