    Working in Environmental Process Optimisation with a specific focus on Energy Efficiency and Environmental Optimisation, I work with a team of specialist engineers to environmentally improve the steel making process across TATA Steel Europe sites. Gaining a breadth of experience in projects ranging from environmental compliance, air quality improvement, water treatment, energy efficiency, emission causation investigations, trial decarbonisation technology for the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme & more in a vast industry has continually built upon my skillset and technical knowledge to a high level, all the while keeping industrial health & safety in mind at this highly hazardous, COMAH tier 1 site.Additionally, I have become an ambassador for Women In STEM at TATA Steel Europe & have been nominated as the company representative in the Future Leaders Group faction of the South Wales Industrial Cluster (SWIC) decarbonisation efforts.

    As one of the first ever longboarding coaches in the UK, I am involved with Boarders without Borders, an initiative to involve young womxn and non-binary people of colour in adventure sports in the greater Birmingham area. This was a response to the fact that only 12.5% of South Asian women in Britain under the age of 30 are involved with sporting activities as a result of access to sporting communities and stigmas within BAME communities around women in sport. [There are no official statistics for non-binary and transgender people of colour involved in sports].Teaching an introductory course over 6 weeks to beginners, Boarders without Borders empowered womxn of all abilities to take up more space in society and be a demonstration of social change, de-stigmatizing exercise whilst building a community that young womxn can be a part of.The initiative, founded by GirlDreamer, has won several awards and has been recognized as an exceptionally important tool for the community by Sports England, amongst other bodies representing professional sports. As an ambassador for Boarders without Borders, I have been involved with training, coaching, attending formal awards ceremonies & giving interviews on national platforms. Having since trained to become a coach, I am able to freelance and teach other people how to longboard outside of Boarders without Borders if I wish to.

    As a member of the board of advisors, I have been involved with streamlining the organisation's efforts in order to push the company forwards into a more digital and inclusive space to empower marginalized people more effectively. Additionally, I have been involved with project proposal & project structuring for both new and ongoing initiatives that the organization run. Though there are a range of creative, adventure sports and personal safety based projects for pre-existing schemes, the new proposals have a specific focus on mental health as well as environmental activism, all the while maintaining the GirlDreamer ethos of educating, empowering and elevating typically marginalized and disadvantaged communities.
