As a coach, I help my clients identify the areas of deep health that they would like to improve, and we take small and manageable steps in the direction of their goals. I am goal neutral, in that I will take on any clients goals, but I do not let pursuit of any goal undermine a client’s emotional, mental, physical, relational, environmental, or existential health. That is, every choice we make together must be sustainable, peaceful, fulfilling, and affirming. In this way I can help clients evolve and expand the way they feel about food and nutrition without moralizing health and health choices, ascribing value to certain kinds of bodies, or allowing the pursuit of a goal to undermine their relationship with themselves or others.

    Bay Strength is a gender- and age-inclusive strength training gym that emphasizes community, self-efficacy, and fostering a positive relationship to fitness. Four owners and three staff coaches make up the team, which has been building stronger people in the Bay Area for five years. Beginning operation in 2016, Bay Strength's four co-owners began by renting space in other gyms. In July 2018, we opened our own gym in Berkeley. After a remodel in November 2019, Bay Strength temporarily closed our Berkeley gym in March 2020 with the onset of Covid-19. In September 2020, Bay Strength opened an all-outdoor facility in El Cerrito, operational rain or shine, and was able to grow our business to its most successful year to date while in the middle of a global pandemic. Thanks to our community-centered business model and long time relationships, Bay Strength has ben able to thrive amidst a harsh climate for small business. We have grown our client base primarily through reviews and word of mouth, and an average of 225 individuals come through our doors per month. In addition to prioritizing gender inclusivity, Bay Strength's mission includes introducing seniors to strength training, as well as providing greater access to training through a Sliding Scale program. We are always looking for new and creative ways to lower barriers to strength training for marginalized and under served members of our community.

    Audience-interactive performance art piece comissioned by the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco to be in conversation with 'Gorgeous'.This cyclical performance involved audience members following performers through five stations, in 12 minute timed intervals, from interview to costuming to a portrait session to a final photograph installation. Audience members were asked to participate and the stations were in constant rotation through a five hour period every Saturday in August.

    For Mugwumpin's 10 year anniversary, two revival runs of previous shows were included in the festival of workshops, symposia, occurrences, and panel discussions. The two revivals, 'super:anti:reluctant' and 'This Is All I Need' ran in rep over five weeks at the ACT Costume Shop Theater in the summer. Rehearsals were concurrent, and the production teams worked simultaneously to remount the two shows for the festival celebration.
