    - Was promoted to H.R Manager and then to HR Director of Unisys Africa in 1999. - As HR Director, I was responsible at a strategic level for all Human Resources Functions, including, inter alia, recruitment, retention, training and development, remuneration, benefits, labour relations, organizational restructuring, transformation, performance management, HR policies and procedures, ethics, grievances, disciplinary hearings, CCMA cases and criminal cases. - Introduced the first South African ISO9001 certification for corporate training and development, and subsequently for the Unisys HR department. - As a Senior Business Partner, my responsibilities included understanding and interpreting the strategic business requirements of the business units into the HR strategic imperatives. This required the identification, design and delivery of HR strategic programmes to meet organisational priorities and milestones. - In addition, I was responsible for interpreting Government legislation – BB BEE, EE Act, Skills Development Act, etc. to fit local and Corporate (USA) business imperatives. - Appointed Chairperson of the BEE Committee. - Resolved the inherent tensions and differences between Unisys Corporate global strategies, and policies, and the strategic requirements of both the subsidiary and the legislated requirements of South Africa. This required frequent communication, interaction and negotiation with local, regional and Corporate staff. - I was Chairperson of the Unisys Africa Pension Fund Board of Trustees, responsible, inter alia, for the management of the fund and the implementation of requirements as per the Pension Funds Act and FSB. - As a consequence of operational restructuring in Unisys Africa, and in order to comply with BEE requirements, I was involved in the Unisys team that devised the strategy for the formation of a number of Small and Medium Enterprises with those Unisys staff impacted by the operational restructuring.

    - Joined Unisys - the then Unidata, a distributor of Unisys Corporation, U.S.A - in October 1990 - Conceptualised, designed and implemented the Unidata Corporate College, which specialised in providing integrated learning programmes for the employees of Unidata/Unisys SA. This meant participation in and accountability for the implementation of human resource development strategies for the three business units, providing training and development in areas relevant to Unidata/Unisys SA’s core competencies, in the areas of product and technical development, management development, and operational development. - Participated in the development of the bridging programmes and the individual development programmes that were integral to Unisys’ transformation strategy.
