    As the Lead Researcher I was tasked with compiling a production guidelines manual for traditional foods grown in KwaZulu-Natal. The information required for producing this manual came about through desktop research, interviews with local farmers and key stakeholder consultations. My knowledge of farming systems and best practises for indigenous crops was applied. I was also responsible for getting in touch with various seed companies to acquire planting stock and I managed a small team of facilitators (field workers) to assist me in gathering data.
