    https://www.walnutwoods.org Walnut Woods currently provides empowerment programs to survivors of abuse to build self-trust, self-esteem during the critical time of one to six years after leaving their perpetrator. The future goals and vision are to provide nature-based educational intensives and transitional homes for courageous women and their children who have escaped domestic abuse and who desire to heal, transform and regenerate themselves as well as their future. Currently, Walnut Woods is developing a seven-pillar approach to personal development and designing workshops to support the healing process of recovering from abuse and trauma. Alternative healing methods and educational workshops are available at Sruti Berkshire Yoga Center and in collaboration with offerings from area organizations so these families can rebuild their lives and thrive. Our future herb and cut flower farm will help keep Walnut Woods sustainable and support the transition of women we partner with in integrating back into the greater community. In addition to being the Founder and President of the Board of Walnut Woods, I am an international best-selling author of the book - Thrive Anyway and Integrative Coach which partners with survivors in their personal and professional development. Combining my 26-plus-year career in housing and development for vulnerable populations and my five-plus years of experience on an administrative team of a successful non-profit, I am poised to lead this program into a fully thriving and sustainable organization. Walnut Woods is an important life mission to me because, in 2011, I faced potential homelessness as a result of domestic abuse. Keeping true to my word, after discovering how few options there were for affordable temporary housing, I vowed to create a healing process, holistic center, and transitional homes for other families facing similar situations.

    Nestled in southern Berkshires of Massachusetts, Stanton Home serves as an extended family and home for adults with varying abilities, international volunteers and staff that work together to create an incredible living and day experience. As part of the team, I currently manage the individual self-directed goal and vision plans for the adults within this community. I have managed one of our six residential programs that is home to four adults. Primary responsibilities include leading and managing a team of thirteen employees and three volunteers in a residential setting. Witnessing the unfolding of personal development of staff, volunteers and individuals supported is the highlight of my work and a continual ignitor of compassion. I am most proud of my contribution and impact on assisting the organization transform, strengthen and grow into thriving community. In the first three years, I donated over 8000 hours to assist in created a strong foundation with which the nonprofit has flourished. Currently Stantin Home has grown the staff team of 70+ and a volunteer team of 15 volunteers, who partner with and support 20+ individuals with special needs on a daily basis. Creating, delivering, then delegating a comprehensive training program for the intial and ongoing growth of 100s of employees and 80 plus volunteers over the past six years provides me with a great sense of accomplishment. Within my years of dedication, I have worn (and still do at times) multiple hats simultaneously ; house manager/volunteer manager/ volunteer trainer/ individual support plan facilitator/program director/event planner/ purchasing agent /family relations liaison/ healthcare coordinator/ fundraising/ PR/grant writing and liaison with state officials.
