    While a law student, I opened Rodrigo's Roast Beef as a food stall in a popular weekend market, which with the help of family and friends eventually expanded into a restaurant. Seven years after, we continue to serve "the best roast beef in the South" to a discriminating but loyal clientele at our BF Paranaque restaurant and at food stalls in the Salcedo and Legazpi weekend markets.

    Our nonprofit organization comprised of community, faith-based, and corporate leaders advocates for minority and low-income communities on a range of issues including affordable housing, access to capital, and small business and job creation. I work towards this mission by serving as the main liaison officer of the nonprofit in Washington, DC advocating before and partnering with federal agencies such as the USDA, FTC, FDIC, OCC, DOJ, Fannie Mae, and the Department of Treasury. I also handle most of the organizational communications of the nonprofit, i.e., project proposals, concept papers, grant applications, letters, memoranda, and press releases.

    My close to three years of service in the Firm as intern and associate lawyer under the tutelage of one of the Philippines' best litigators allowed me to handle all stages of litigation in commercial, civil, and labor disputes for various corporate and individual clients who I represented before trial, appellate and special courts. I had the chance to defend public officials such as a former President, a former Ombudsman facing impeachment, a former Chief of Staff to the Senate President, and a former Trustee of the Government Service Insurance System in several high-profile corruption allegations. I also had the chance to do pro-bono work winning substantial amounts of money in a child and spousal support case and a wrongful termination suit against a giant multinational fast-food corporation.

    I handled legal, political, youth-related, and other ad hoc matters for the office of ABAKADA Party-list Representative Jonathan dela Cruz. I reviewed and proofread draft bills, resolutions, and research materials, handled inter- and intra-parliamentary coordination with other congressional staffers, and organized consultation meetings with constituents mainly from the education sector, consumer interest groups, and overseas workers. I also drafted a report on the culpability of a former President for the death of police special action forces in an anti-terrorist operation in the Southern Philippines, which was adopted and published by the independent minority bloc of Congress.
