Supported the Authorizations and Innovation of the Guernsey Financial Service Commission reporting to the Deputy Service director.Key responsibilities: • Investigating, assessing and presenting to a decision maker a recommendation for the authorisation or rejection of new applications. This recommendation will be based on an assessment of the application versus the relevant Minimum Criteria for Licensing for the financial services sector and other relevant rules and legislation• Reviewing and assessing information and forms submitted to the Commission as part of an application for example, Online Personal Questionnaires (‘OPQ’) or Online Appointment (‘OA’) or Online Resignations (‘OR’), identifying any issues or highlighting risks within any due diligence being carried out.• Carrying out balanced and risk based due diligence at the request of a Supervisory Division or another member of the Division. Providing a clear written summary of the outputs of any such due diligence to enable further review and decision making.• Ensuring that CRM is up to date and accurate for all cases or work that they are involved in• Dealing with enquiries from licensees, regulators, other professionals, complainants and members of the public; and attending meetings as necessary.• Answering both email and telephone queries raised in relation to the online PQ portal and online submissions portal.• Preparing and presenting casework to decisions makers within the Division and Authorization Review Panels, as necessary.• Assisting with the training of new staff joining the organization.• Demonstrating an awareness of both Commission and Industry demands and pressures, developing a ‘can do’ attitude whilst taking personal responsibility for own workload, prioritising tasks and rescheduling as required. Ensuring that senior members of the team are aware of any delays or issues within current workload.
