I was in charge of coordinating an emergency program funded by ECHO and implemented by a consortium consisting of People in Need and VSF-Germany. The one-year program consisted of WASH and Livelihoods and had a budget of 1.6 million Euro. As the Area Coordinator and the Head of emergency programs of the lead agency within the Consortium I coordinated the overall implementation of the activities.Key Responsibilities• Received, reviewed and edited field reports before presenting them to HQ and the Country Directors of the two Consortia members and submitted final reports directly to ECHO through the Single Form;• Spearheaded the overall implementation of the activities of the ECHO Program including monitoring the link between the operational activities and project indicators to ensure the optimum impact of the project delivery;• Governed the financial control and budget monitoring ensuring logistics and procurement procedures were understood and followed by the team and project activities executed within the stipulated budget;• Participated in Human Resource Management including conducting staff appraisals and developed capacity building plans to enhance productivity;• Collaborated with the ECHO Team in Ethiopia, organized their field visits and directly discussed activity changes to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic plan;• Ensured enforcement of safety and security policies in the field and gave regular security updates to the Country Director.Key Achievements • Initiated a WASH Cluster at the District level that enhanced coordination and curbed duplication of services.
