    The MLNG Boil-Off Gas (BOG) Re-Liquefaction Feasibility Study is a project identified from the Fuel Gas Network System Optimization. In that study it was identified that there was a potential to re-liquefy BOG which would amount to approximately additional 0.5 MTPA (8 BCe/yr) of LNG. BOG is vapour recovered from the LNG storage tanks along with vapour return from the ships that is currently compressed and is sent to the fuel gas systems.This gas is clean and can be re-liquefied to LNG with less capital investment compared to base load LNG module as there is no need for acid gas removal unit (AGRU) and drier system.The MLNG Boil-Off Gas Re-Liquefaction (MARLIN) Project is a project to recover 0.5 MTPA (8 BCe/yr.) of LNG from the Boil-Off Gas (BOG) generated from LNG storage tanks and the vapour return during ship loading. MLNG Advanced Re-LIquefactioN (MARLIN) ProjectThis project is the 1st in the world with the capacity of LNG production of 0.5 Million Ton per Annum. This is equivalent to the LNG Production of approx. RM 1.5 Billion per year (8 Big Cargoes Equivalent).To create additional revenue for PETRONAS LNG Complex by liquefying boil off gas (BOG) generated from tanks and ships and sell as LNG product.• Gas from ships and LNG Storage tanks• Some excess of gas will be flared.• MARLIN will minimize (reduce) the flaring through conversion of Boil of Gas (BOG) to liquid phase• Thus, maximizing the value of LNG production through additional 8 Big Cargoes Equivalent or equivalent to USD 300 million per annum.

    • Main Rejuvenation Package Shutdown for October/November 2007Replacement of major equipment to improve the reliability of the plant operation and upgrade the existing plant equipment particularly Primary and Secondary Reformer, Process Gas Cooler, Absorber, HP Scrubber, Boiler’s primary and secondary super heater tubes replacement etc. The said equipment and system have exceeded the life span, are beyond repair, obsolete or stressed which have resulted in plant not realizing it’s full capacity and production. • EPCC for New Cooling Tower Project (10 cells)ABF existing Ammonia Cooling Tower (Unit 88) was commissioned in 1985. The Tower type: Cross-flow cooling tower constructed using Douglas Fir Timber. The tower has been running for more than 25 years and has undergone three revamps. Over three revamps of 10% production increased, cooling water requirement increased. Considering the condition of the existing tower and increased in circulation rate after revamps, ABF has decided to replace the existing cooling tower with new concrete cooling tower.• Main Construction/Rejuvenation Package Turnaround (12TA) /Shutdown for Oct/Nov. 2010 The rejuvenation of the ABF complex is deemed necessary as critical ageing equipment has to be replaced in order to ensure smooth operation of the plant. • Gas Outage Shutdown for September 2011The minimum works during the gas outage are replacement of Control valves, piping and electrical/instrument works. This Shutdown has been carried out due to the routine maintenance work of neighboring plant Bintulu Crude Oil Terminal (BCOT). • Pit-stop Shutdown for June 2012ABF has carried out Pit Stop Shutdown (PSS), during its Plant’s Renewal of Boiler Certificate of Fitness (CF) which was programmed in June 2012. Through with this shutdown (28 days P to P), The major work for this SD is the tie-in of new cooling tower facilities which include the 80” underground WR pipeline and 76” underground WS pipeline.
