Working with sales team identify and recommend film structures for customer products for both new and existing packages. This includes identifying requirements such as barrier properties for food safety, sealing and tear properties and heating requirements for package conversion. Keep up to date with the latest film recycling and bio-gradable information and directions the industry is heading.Manage ink room and staff to supply on shade inks for flexographic presses, managing and ordering stock levels and provide cost effective reworking systems while reducing press downtime. Train and develop staff in colour matching, safe operating procedures and implementing LEAN and 5S projects and encourage continuous improvement.Laboratory quality control testing such as retain solvents by gas chromatography, lamination bond strengths, heat sealing strength and coefficient of friction. Prepare and supply certificates of analysis to customers and responsible for servicing and calibration of all laboratory equipment.Work with quality assurance to investigate film issues and customer complaints in relation to film specifications and colour accuracy. Supply root cause analysis and give recommendations for operations on corrective actions.
