      I worked at Sedgefield Borough Council in a variety of roles. I started as a Duty Manager at Ferryhill Leisure Centre in 1982. In 1986 i was transferred to Spennymoor Leisure Centre in a similar post. In 1988 the threat of CCT saw a reorganisation of the department and my appointment at HQ as a Project Officer. This role developed into that of Leisure Develpment Manager. As part of this role I developed an events package which proved extremely profitable and continued virtually unchanged for the next 21yrs.As a result of Local Government Reorganisation I was asked to step into the position of Principle Leisure Manager by Durham County Council until the LGR process had been completed.
