My focus is to pay attention to the context of congregations and communities to help in the mission of Jesus Christ. By doing this in concert with congregations and members, a deepening sense of discipleship is experienced by all and the church along with the community it serves becomes closer in their mutual relationships.I am the field coordinator for Leading Congregations in Mission, an international initiative for congregational revitalization. I also served as field coordinator for Discipleship NOW! a field initiative designed to deepen the discipleship of selected members.

My wife and I owned and managed an apiary consisting of between 1400 and 700 hives for 18 years. We produced honey and wax for sale and were members of Sioux Honey Association. We also provided pollination services to various crops in California, Washington and Idaho. Crops included: Almonds, prunes, cherries, apples, peaches, squash, onion seed, canola seed, radish seed, carrot seed, alfalfa seed, melons, cucumbers, and clover. The management of hive health was a major part of my daily work. I coordinated the deliver of hives for pollination as well as contacting growers about my services. I also coordinated shipping of hives and honey. I gathered hives with my own truck and fork lift for shipment to California. Daily work involved a lot of manual labor. I loved the bee business, but after 18 years as an owner and 7 years prior to that time as a laborer in the bees I was ready to move on.
