    SMF is my company which I started in 1989. After working as an Accountant for a period of time I decided to experience the IT industry so initially I worked as an analyst programmer developing bespoke decision support solutions in FCS-EPS, KHALIX, PILOT EIS, EXCEL and database solutions in MS Access and SQL Server.About 8 years ago I returned to accounting in the funds management business with Ceramic Funds Management and the Sata Funds Management businesses. The services I offered included accounting, company secretarial and compliance. Accounting software experience includes MYOB, JOBPAC and MRI.As an analyst programmer the applications designed and developed were usually connected with accounting and modelling such as management reporting or consolidation systems however while working with Austock Brokers I developed the Exempt Market Trading platform (APX) when Austock was awarded the Exempt Market License.Customers I have created applications for include ANZ, Western Mining, Alcoa, NAB, RTA of NSW, Shell, OPTUS, Boral Energy, SEC of Victoria, and Emerson Process Management.In the first quarter of 2012 I completed a three month contract with Jetstar. I was involved with the upload of monthly management reports between Jetstar and QANTAS. Software used inluded TM1, Hyperion and Essbase.

Responsible for the compliance plan audit for the registered schemes.The schemes were property based.

    I have worked for the ANZ in permanent and contract roles.I commenced with the ANZ in the Group MIS department, as Manager Financial Modelling Systems.ANZ developed an Executive Information System (EIS) for the Senior Executives based on an FCS-EPS and Micro-FCS software platform.My team of 2 FCS-EPS developers were responsible for developing data collection software in Micro-FCS that collected budget and actual data (financials and commentary) from each reporting entity around the world.The data in local currency was uploaded to a mainframe based FCS-EPS consolidation and currency conversion model creating inter-company and currency translation journals that were stored to support ad-hoc manipulation and reporting of the group's hierarchy.Consolidated data was downloaded to PC based delivery platforms featuring touch screen technology and Micro-FCS executing in a live environment creating ad-hoc graphical reporting of financial data and commentary.At the conclusion of the EIS project I selected a Financial Accounting role in Australian Treasury. I was responsible for a section of the Bank's ledger, together with a staff of Accountants and Treasury's ledger data processing department.I was team leader for the project that converted the accounting methodology for the Bank's swap book from accrual to Mark to Market.As a contractor to Australian Treasury I developed a software application to assist Treasury Analysts to review customer's profit & loss and balance sheets to identify opportunities to apply treasury products such as swaps, options and various deposit products.The project called Risk/Evaluation Model (REM) accepted customers data, analysed the data for hedging and funding gaps, suggested Bank products that would address the gaps, then extrapolated the cash streams for each product updating the profit & loss and balance sheet to reveal if the customer could service the suggested products.

    I relocated from Sydney to Melbourne to open the Melbourne branch for EPS Software Consultants. I was responsible for business development marketing FCS-EPS, Micro-FCS and FCS-Finstat to organisations such as BHP, NAB, WBC, Ansett Transport Industries, VACC and Kraft Foods.During my time with EPS I was also an evening lecturer in financial modelling for the Banking and Finance Degree course at Chisholm (now Monash). Chisholm were an FCS-EPS educational site and I lectured with Chisholm for three years.The Melbourne office had 4 staff providing sales, technical support and consultancy services to the FCS-EPS Melbourne user base. We held regular sales seminars and annual user groups.

    Computer Accounting Services was a computer bureau offering all accounting applications in a mainframe timeshare or bureau environment.I commenced as General Ledger Installation Analyst advising customers how to design their chart of accounts for general ledger processing and management reporting.In my first year I installed 30 general ledger and creditor packages (CASGEN) for customers.After 12 months I was given the role of CASGEN Department Manager, responsible for 4 installation and production staff. I progressed to Camperdown Branch Manager responsible for a staff of 17 analysts, programmers and production staff.CAS introduced FCS-EPS to Australia, a decision support / financial modelling computer language based on English for the development of budget and management reporting systems. This was an end user tool to be used by Accountants available before Lotus 123 and before Microsoft had been established. I became the CAS FCS-EPS support person, running training sessions, providing application development and pre and post sales support.Before leaving CAS to relocate to Melbourne to open the Melbourne branch for FCS-EPS I performed the role of NSW Timeshare Manager responsible for all timeshare applications primarily featuring FCS-EPS.
