Using Lean methodologies monitor site statistics through visual management systems, improve production flow, routing of new parts to correct production stages, Capacity planning for customer parts supply department, Man Management. I am currently the engineer supporting the material handling department, Powder coating, Braising, Electrical assembly and low volume customer specific products. Within the low volume production line I am developing a production line to accommodate 40 products per week of varying type and spec to achieve ongoing contract with a number of customers and maintain a steady TAKT time and Manning level. This is being achieved by redeveloping the build processes of the products and the sequence of work in which they are carried out. I am responsible for the budget and management of the project from conception through to completion, of which I am currently developing a short production line to accommodate an ongoing order to meet the customer delivery and quality expectations whilst allowing the flexibility of still producing other different customer specific products this has also required me to develop planning models to allow commercial to plan work in the department and be able to more accurately see the production constraints. I have developed an internal timing system based on MTM techniques and using spreadsheets I have created to synthesise working time to estimate build times on new components / assemblies.
