I began working with The Louver Shop before it WAS The Louver Shop. My Dad was trying to sell shutters through my Mom's decorating business. He was successful but also had a job with a shutter company (selling shutters to himself) and needed someone to paint & finish these shutters. Painting houses is slow in the Winter, so I stepped in.The business grew over the years and I helped develop the finishing process and became a paint matching expert in that process.I continued doing this as the company grew out of our small shop in Pine Lake, Georgia and moved to Dawsonville, Georgia. Once there, I learned about data entry, marketing, driving our trucks across the Southeast... and still, painting. In 2003, our unique business felt we could make a better product if we found a company in China to do this work. They couldn't, surprisingly, do this job cheaper, but we felt they could provide us with more consistent delivery times. We had our share of troubles in China and began a move to VietNam, when we decided that we would be better served if we moved our operation back to the US. I had a part in our trips and dealings in Asia. I also took this expertise in dealing with wood suppliers in Chile. My father passed away during this time and his partner decided he wanted to sell. I could not afford to buy him out so, we decided to sell the company in 2010.
