My dissertation, entitled, “Ethics of the Dust: on the care of a university art collection”, was completed under the supervision of Professors Pippa Skotnes and Carolyn Hamilton in October of 2014. My thesis explores the role of the university as art collector, the relevance of the university art collection and the responsibilities that the institution has toward the art objects in its care. I was also a participant of the Centre for Curating the Archive (CCA), the Archive and Curatorship (ARC) programme and the Archive and Public Culture (APC) initiatives at UCT for the duration of my postgraduate studies.
