As part of ACT Health's Strategic Finance Capital Budgeting and Reporting Team, I focus on financial reconciliation, reporting, compliance and support for the Strategic Finance Branch on all capital related matters, as well as also having responsibility for recurrent infrastructure budgeting and reporting for the Directorate. I assist in the provision of a range of support services, such as project reconciliations, reporting analysis, process improvement and asset management. As Senior Officer, I work closely with the Finance Manager to support the branch and its clients. I am required to have a high level of attention to detail, including proficient spreadsheet and analysis skills, sound communication skills, including the ability to resolve problems by enlisting resources, policies and technical financial support and the ability to manage deadlines and coordinate a variety of tasks. My main responsibilities are, but not limited too:•As part of a team, prepare the monthly reconciliation of projects relevant to the Health Infrastructure program and Capital projects;•Preparation and analysis of financial reports and acquittals;•Oversee the processing of invoice management, payment reconciliations and debt management;•Monitor and maintain relevant registers that inform the basis of the budgeting process •Assist in the development of systems and processes necessary to ensure compliance matters in assigned areas are met and reported;•Provide support and advice to Finance/Operational Managers;•Assist in the implementation of Project Management and Reporting System (PMARS);•Assist in the review and improvement of Capitalisation of completed projects and Property, Plant & Equipment; and•Apply Financial policy and develop and follow financial procedures and guidelines in accordance with the ACT financial Management Act 1996 and ACT Health’s Chief Executives Instructions

The Financial Reporting and Governance team is accountable for matters such as statutory reporting, internal management reporting, budget development and coordination, and ensuring ACT Health Directorate’s accounting policies and procedures remain comprehensive and current. The branch is also responsible for cash management, capital accounting and reporting and is the liaison point between ACT Health and Share Services Finance for financial reporting, banking and taxation management. As part of a team, I provides strategic financial support to the Directorate, ensuring effective, efficient and accurate financial policy advice and financial reporting.My main responsibilities are, but not limited too:•enhance the ACT Health Directorates reporting processes, both internal and external to better practice standards and the timely achievement of established deadlines; •analysis of financial performance of divisions and prepare meaningful reports for the executive and external agencies;•prepare the Treasury monthly workbook, preparation of quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis and be the key contact for financial reporting to Treasury;•undertake end of month processes, including preparing necessary journals, analytical reviews to eliminate errors and to ensure completeness, undertake general ledger reconciliations and other necessary tasks;•apply financial policy and develop and implement financial procedures and guidelines in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1996 and other ACT Health instructions, procedures and relevant legislation;•provide leadership and promote a commitment to high quality customer service principles, practices and attributes;•provide support to the Financial Reporting and Governance Team, and senior management of the Strategic Finance Branch; and•contribute to the development, implementation and progressive improvement of the ACT Health Work Health Safety Management System in relation to responsibilities within the Branch.

The Finance Transformation unit within the Strategic Finance Branch, acts as a proactive strategic business partner and is responsible for driving transformation, innovation and efficiencies across the ACT Health Directorate.
