I lead all phases of learning design to deliver custom digital learning solutions. My clients come from healthcare, pharma, Big 5 consulting, retail, executive leadership and communications, aeronautics, impact investment, consumer packaged goods, and software. Some want to onboard or upskill at a global scale. Others want to shift culture by developing connection and empathy. Our digital solutions may be standalone, or they could be part of a larger journey that stitch together and enhance the impact of live facilitation, coaching, and learning events.• DISCOVER & DESIGN - I interview stakeholders and SMEs to understand the needs of both the organization and learners. With this in mind, I create a Design Document that establishes the strategic and creative vision for the learning solution.• DEVELOP & DELIVER - I script engaging, narrative-driven content and media (including original animations and interactives). Where live-action video is preferred, I liaise with an external production company to bring the client's vision to life. Throughout these phases, I work iteratively with the client to gather and implement feedback. Sometimes, I prototype (Adobe XD) and build the final solution as well (in BTS's proprietary learning platform, Articulate Rise, or Surge 9 adaptive learning platform).AWARDS -🏆 Twice recipient of BTS Digital's "High Flyer" Award (Q4 2021 & Q3 2022) * Criteria: Innovation & Performance🏆 Winning team: BTS Digital Innovation Sprint (Dubai, Sep 2022)🏅 Shortlisted idea: Custom Digital Learning Innovation Sprint (Nov 2023, in progress)🏅 Nominee: BTS Digital "Rockstar Rookie" Award (Q3 2021)* Criteria: Sustained Performance, Contributions, Raising the Bar🏅 MVP runner-up: Toronto office team retreat (Sep 2021)

I created learning materials for the Webby award-winning immersive ocean climate web journey, narrated by Stephen Fry. (It's really cool - you should check it out!) I first reviewed the literature on best practices for digital marine science education and then developed resources for educators and students that could be adapted to meet a range of national curricula, ages, and tech availability. I loved working on this project because I was able to connect my marine biology roots with learning design to help share the experience of the ocean with a global audience (1+ million). The success of The Sea We Breathe has since led to a VR expansion!

As part of Mad Science's R&D team, I took a lead in designing hands-on classroom experiences that allowed children to discover the science of climate change and ocean health through activities and play (as part of the climate change workshop, for example, I developed an 'escape room' and life-sized board game). In addition to being responsible for overseeing all phases of workshop development, I also created and pitched workshop proposals to executives and franchisees.

In the remote Ontario wilderness, I used experiential learning techniques to teach Science and Integrated Arts to students who were not thriving in mainstream education. "The Boundless School weaves together high school curriculum, outdoor adventure and counselling to help teens forge a new relationship with achievement and learning. Even the most eye-rolling and diffident students cannot resist the allure of learning about World War I by actually building trenches, or studying Zombies for English class by building a self-contained community in the forest to fend off the apocalypse."

I made it possible for people to experience the underwater world. In Australia, I made lifelong dreams of diving on the Great Barrier Reef a reality. In the British Virgin Islands, I lived on sailboats with teenagers, teaching them underwater research, marine biology, and sailing. And in the Philippines, I took guests inside 200m long WWII shipwrecks. I also volunteered on marine research projects for Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), thresher sharks, and aquaculture studies. Dive instructing sparked my love for teaching and designing truly transformative, life-changing experiences.
