    In the year 2000, my friend had an idea to backup the internet, and so was born Avamar. I was part of the original team that put deduplication on the map.My responsibilities were client side. I wrote the original dedeplication code that runs on every customer machine. As the company grew and was acquired, I grew along with it. I was in charge of the client team, and at one point, managing 15 people with a code base of millions of c++ lines, running on over 30 different os/version combinations with application plugins. I was then hand picked for a special Advanced Development team which specialized in tackling hard problems and new technology. Our mission was to be Awesome.Accomplishments- Developed innovative solutions such as efficient way to search for files by name in a Virtual Machine backup by indexing metadata from an image backup.- Developed micro architecture standalone solution to backup enterprise NAS devices.- Lead integration projects between multiple teams.- Lead delivery of successful enterprise quality software for multiple releases.- Lead team to develop various features to improve product performance, concurrency, and integration with other products, such as windows junction points, refs, and ui improvements.- Supported multiple teams that used my teams code.- Re-architected nas backup from days to hours winning the company a multi-million dollar contract- Designed and implemented efficient vmware image changeblock backup feature- Handled customer escalations and issues

    I started this job as an intern in college and was hired as full time upon graduation. The companies product was an Ada compiler. I worked on the code generator for the intel 80960 chipset which was used by the military. The code was written in Ada and Pascal.The generated code needed to be highly optimized, I worked on a peephole optimizer for the assembly code and also a profiler for finding performance bottlenecks.
