    I am a Senior IP Workflow Engineer at NewTek in San Antonio, TX. I relocated from my home in Ft. Myers, FL to San Antonio Sept. 2018. I am part of NewTek's Professional Services Group. My work includes product integration and workflow evaluation, software/hardware installation and configuration, NDI network configuration, both onsite and remote product training, as well as, software/product development and design. I am self taught in several computer languages, such as Linux Perl, LOGIC Automation file coding, Intelligent Interface coding, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, VBScript, VB.Net, and XML. I've recently completed my Cisco CCNA certification in Routing and Switching and am about to complete the CompTIA A+ & Network + certifications.My role here at NewTek has given me the opportunity to fully utilize my 20+ years of television production and engineering operations experience. My career as a television director, working directly in operations, combined with my training of both software development and network engineering has given me a very unique working perspective. I've not only learned how to develop, configure and integrate production programs and equipment, I've installed, troubleshooted and operated these same production programs and equipment in a live broadcast environment.I am very lucky to work with a group of fantastic people who have allowed me to feel fully appreciated, and have given me the chance to be a part of a company that is way ahead of its time. I love my work here at NewTek; and as they say, when you love your job you never really work a day in your life.

    I am a highly motivated, educated (both University trained and self-taught) and skilled professional with over 20 years in the broadcasting industry. I have extensive experience in the both the News Operations and in the IT/Engineering fields of the Broadcasting industry. I am currently working with clients on a freelance basis but am looking for full time work at a progressive company where my extensive skill set can be utilized to help clients better integrate new and emerging technologies. I would like to work in the network/workflow/database administration field, or in the commissioning/product specialist/client training field.My hands on experience in the broadcasting industry, combined with my work as a Product Specialist at both Chyronhego & Ross Video, has given me the ability to genuinely relate to and understand the needs of the clients with which I've worked. I am not only able to train clients on how to use the software and related equipment, showing them how to make things look good on air; I am able to help clients configure their control room network, as well as, set up, configure and install the hardware & equipment in ways that will work best for their station’s needs.I am in the process of getting my CCNA certification in Routing & Switching from Cisco, and I've started training for CompTIA A+ certification. In addition, I taught myself several computer programming languages, including HTML5, JavaScript, MySQL, Linux Perl and 2 proprietary languages used by Chyron's products: LOGIC Automation files (for the NewsTicker data server) and the full Intelligent Interface Command language (or IIC).Finally, because most of the work I’m interested in I know will involve travel, I’m also learning Spanish, Portuguese and German, so I can become more useful to a larger number of clients and companies.
