System includes over 400 faculty physicians and 400 residents, a Level I trauma center, and an extensive ambulatory network. Responsibilities included HIM, clinical documentation, and supply chain operations. Worked with CMO to implement productivity-based compensation plan for faculty physicians, worked on new 60,000 sf ambulatory center, expanded system-owned Medicaid managed care plan to take on 30,000 previously uninsured lives, developed stronger capital planning process with greater physician involvement, and converted revenue cycle systems to Epic.

Worked with CEO and other senior executives on affiliation process that led to the eventual acquisition and renaming of the hospital by NorthShore University HealthSystem, a four hospital integrated delivery system affiliated with University of Chicago medical school. Responsibilities included business development, managed care, PHO, physician practices, HIM, and information technology. Led development of the performance improvement function, brought in new managed care leader to direct PHO turnaround, negotiated substantial increases with largest managed care payors, facilitated team of doctors and IT staff to create a physician web portal, and opened physician offices in secondary service area to foster growth and improve payor mix.
