I worked as a GSSA in the aviation sector. Based in Johannesburg, I worked as a junior salesman selling cargo capacity on a few small African airlines selling their belly capacity on small narrow body aircraft. As I gained valuable experience i was offered a role to relocate to Cape Town and start a GSSA office in Cape Town as our business expanded and new airlines were signed on board.after two years in CPT as a GSSA and having signed up and negotiated new contracts, Our branch expanded and i successfully opened a GHA warehouse with ramp side access and started Warehousing and ramp operations for a few European international passenger airlines as well as handled regular freighter and charter operators regularly.As a South African local hero company, ACR saw much growth and were a valued role-player in the South African Freight forwarding and airline handling fraternity.Commercially, i was responsible for SLA's, RFQ's, Tender submissions, new airline contract negotiations for GSSA and GHA and was instrumental in establishing and successfully operating a trucking road-feeder service in a traditional "hub-n-spoke" capacity.I was appointed to Senior General Manager, placed in a management team, which took ACR to great heights and new levels of business success in Warehousing, Aircraft handling, Operations, Sales and Contract Negotiation and Key Airline customer integration.My contract negotiation, strategic ability to plan seasonal contributions and sound budget understanding were successfully implemented and proved to be a winning formula in my early career in Aviation. Working for ACR gave me good grounding, Sound experience and knowledge and understanding which i still carry to this day.
