    Led the work of the Canadian Medical Association in the areas of policy development, ethics and professionalism, research and library services, and international health. Served as a key resource and spokesperson on topics such as assisted dying and end-of-life care, legalization of cannabis and the opioid crisis. Played a key role in the development of federal legislation on assisted dying in Canada.

    Led the work of the Canadian Medical Association in the areas of medical ethics and medical professionalism and served as the key staff person on international health through the management of the CMA’s relationship with the World Medical Association. Wrote and managed policies in areas such as palliative care, physician-industry interactions, therapeutic abortion, ethical issues during pandemics and blood borne pathogens. Oversaw a successful major review of the CMA Code of Ethics.
