The STA passively reads packets off the monitored links/pcap files and reconstructs the flows, connection and sessions. A passive tap or a mirror port is used to feed the packets from monitored link to STA. It can be configured to report meta-data about the sessions parsed. STA can also be configured to report the Full packets for the targeted sessions. Some of the important features implemented include:• Webmail support in STA (hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail)• RegEx based targeting support• Target Session Playback• IPv6 support• Scaling extensions to multi-threaded STAI was also instrumental in making sure that most of the STA tests are automated.

    Xcipio Access Function Provisioning Interface support: Xcipio is the Lawful Intercept product developed by SS8 Networks used for communications intercept. In Lawful Intercept model, Access Function refers to network device through which the source data of the Lawful Intercept is transmitting. To collect and forward the targeted traffic from the access function (Switch, Router, media gateway) to the collection function (Lawful Intercept Agents), the access function need to be provisioned. The Access Function Provisioning Interface provisions the access functions to forward the targeted traffic.

    Worked as Technical Consultant in MacDep (Machine Dependent part of HP-UX OS) team at HP-ISO, Bangalore. I was part of the support team for HP-UX 11.x kernel. Work involved triaging a defect, fixing it, doing the unit test and submitting the fix. Used Kernel debugging tools and techniques. At one point of time the number of defects on HPUX 11.x kernel was high and to bring down the defect backlog to less than 25 was involved in a fast track defect fixing initiative called “Defect Reduction Project”. More than 300 defects were fixed as part of this project.
