Abu Dhabi Investment Authority is amongst the largest sovereign wealth funds in the Middle East. ADIA manages a global investment portfolio that is diversified across more than two dozen asset classes and sub-categories. The Real Estate Department of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority is responsible to invest in Real Estate Projects and Properties internationally.Key Responsibilities:• Accounts Payables – Responsible for the review, validation and final execution of payments to third parties globally. Payments consisted primarily of high value and sensitive nature including asset purchase using multi currencies and multi funding methods. Review activities including validating against engagement letters, budgets and resolution of queries. Payments executed both by printed payment instruction and using SWIFT messaging technology involving close liaison with clients, consultants, banks and other stakeholders of business transactions.• Bank Account Management – Responsible for the set up and ongoing maintenance of a bank account database to support a centralized payments function servicing a global real estate investor. The database consisted of more than 300 accounts spread over more than 75 different banking partners and involving 10+ currencies. Responsibility also entailed monitoring all bank account movements, including receiving bank statements, advices and also overseeing the preparation of bank reconciliations. • Subsidiary CAPEX Monitoring - Responsible for overseeing and reviewing of all subsidiary related CAPEX expenditures (50+ subsidiaries).

July 1986 to May 2012 (26 Years) Abu Dhabi Investment Authority Abu DhabiAccountant (Financial Accounting) – Real Estate Department Preparation and finalization of European (across Europe in many countries incl. UK) overseas properties companies’ annual budget which included the following:a) Liaison with Property Managers regarding forecasting of rental income, property expenses and capital expenditure. Subsequently, monitoring and analysing variances in order to identify reasons of concern, if any.b) Liaison with external and internal auditors, bookkeepers and lawyers of various subsidiaries (50+) and finalising corporate cost estimates for inclusion in the annual budget.c) Preparation of draft budget for Real Estate Department, its associated subsidiaries and properties for review and approval by Head of Department and Managing Director respectively. On-going monitoring of financial and legal matters of various subsidiaries and joint ventures between real estate companies of the authority, located globally. Receiving and reviewing the audited financial statements of Real Estate Department’s overseas companies and cross checking with Real Estate Department’s records for loan, bank balances, and share capital. Coordinating with Central Accounts of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and in order to furnish monthly management accounts of the department as well as providing any financial information from time to time as requested by the Central Accounts Department. Coordinating with external auditors of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. Arranging and execution of inter-company loans and share capital for subsidiary companies after consultation with the tax consultants of respective countries. Many other projects, feasibility reviews and special assignments where handled from time to time.
