    I was responsible for the analysis of strategic fit for Joint C4ISR, Information Management, and Information Technology projects in the Department of Defence. This sees an analysis during all phases of a capital project against the Force Capability Guide, Defense Scenarios, Defense Renewal, and as an element of the Capability Based planning.

    I was responsible for the plans and policy for the Information Management program of the Canadian Army. This included the long term strategy, supporting IM technology, and analysis of corporate risk for information.

    This position saw the development and coordination of the Canadian Army IS Security program. This included the development of the future direction, oversight of day to day activities, a training and awareness program, and ensuring compliance to national and departmental policy. Of note, during this period the Command and Control information system of the Army was assessed and authorized based on ITSG 33 (Canadian variant of NIST 800.53)

    I was responsible for the development of a new program for the assessment and authorization of IT Systems within the Department based on the emerging guidance (ITSG 33, NIST 800.53) from the Communication Security Establishment of Canada. This saw the integration of security deliverables through out the System Life Cycle, Policy for IT Risk Management including registers, Control Profiles base don a departmental risk assessment for Designated and Classified systems.

    My responsibilities included the Security Certification and Accreditation of deployed and operational IT Systems. During my time there I accredited the Army Deployable Command and Control system, the Special Forces System, the Departmental Secret Network and a number of emerging IT Solutions. In addition I was the Subject matter expert for Cross Domain Solutions, Virtualization, Cryptography, and Mobile Computing Devices.

    I was the senior lead for the development of analytics and predictive modeling. While in the position I developed an autonomous predictive model based on neural networks and genetic algorithms. As part of the analytics engine the predictive modeling, regression analysis, cluster algorithms, and decision played a key role. As the lead I was responsible for integration of the analytics architecture into all products.
