    As a result they required a technical specialist to work with the actuarial team to automate as much of the Syndicate technical provision work as possible. The project was split into a number of streams. The first stream of work was to the ultimate and IBNR outputs from the actuarial reserving process and apportioning them across the Inward Premium and Claims. The second stream was more involved and required Reinsurance ultimate’s to apportioned not only over reinsurance but also over relevant attaching inwards polices and claims as well, which would also be used to form part of the GAAP reporting requirements.The final stream of work was to take all the outputs and start applying the Technical provision formulations to create outputs for regulatory reporting. This data would also form the basis of a feed into the finance team, if WR Berkley decided to switch to Ultimate Accounting method.
