Guide to Webcams, ISBN 0790612208, published by Sams Technical Publishing/Prompt Publishing, August 2000. Conceived, sold, wrote, and published first book in under a year. Guide to Webcams was a "how-to" book for beginning and intermediate users of webcams. Intended as a primer on webcams, the book covered both personal and business use of webcams, providing instruction on the types of applications and how best to take advantage of them.

Designed and implemented new GCN Lab testing network. Reviewed hundreds of products, wrote tutorials, buyer's guides, and two regular columns.Increased overall visibility of Lab and raised the technical excellence of product coverage, not only in reviews but in feature articles as well. Worked with Features Editor to edit Buyer's Guides and other freelance pieces for technical accuracy and develop artwork. Worked with Lab Director, Features Editor and Assistant Managing Editors to develop editorial calendars for all publications.Managed the development of new benchmark suite, as well as the adoption of the Ziff-Davis networking benchmarks. GCN was, at the time, the first and only non-Ziff-Davis publication to be allowed to use the ZD Benchmarks for published reviews. Wrote news stories, reviews and features to Government Computer News, GCN State & Local, GCN Shopper and Government Windows NT magazine for every issue. Reviews also appeared quite frequently in the Washington Post Tech Thursday section.Responsible for technical upkeep and maintenance of lab network, including both production and testing machines. Assisted other reviewers with evaluation of equipment and developed testing methodologies for both my own reviews and others. Participated in budgeting decisions on new equipment purchases and shared in management of testing lab support personnel.
