    I received a New Colombo Plan scholarship to participate in a two week intensive trip to Malaysian Borneo. The focus of the trip was to understand the environmental, social, and economic complexities of palm oil production. We had the chance to learn from an array of private and public stakeholders in the field, which helped me to understand the importance of listening and collaboration when finding solutions to global issues.

    As part of the Global Immersion Guarantee at Monash University, I was able to travel to Mumbai for a two week intensive study tour. The focus of the trip was to better understand the how the issues of mass urbanisation, anthropogenic climate change, and gender inequality continue to impact the people of Mumbai. We drew comparisons to the issues facing the Australian society, and developed strategies addressing how to simultaneously tackle these problems and strengthen Australia-India bilateral relations.
