Professional ExperienceCANO CORPORATION, Fitchburg, MA 1989 to PresentA Manufacturing Corporation focused on producing Modular Office Furniture and Seating.President- Responsible for all departments and operations Reduced inventory by 50% by negotiating with vendors to carry our inventory which allowed quicker delivery and reduced working capital needs by 50%. Developed a marketing and sales department and monitored them against quarterly sales, goals, and budgets. Managed international and domestic sales and marketing efforts. Designed all the company brochures, manuals, and marketing material. Performed cost analysis for each department, which resulted in expenses being cut by a third. Streamlined the Human Resource department to facilitate hiring and onboarding process. Hired and trained new employees. Responsible for new product development: Designed and developed the modular furniture system “Canospace” that became the company’s top selling product. Grew the company from under 10 employees to 110 full time employees. Built a four man management team to coordinate all of the employees. The net result was that sales grew from $500,000 to $10,000,000. Negotiated and secured Federal and State government contracts increasing sales by over 33%. Negotiated domestic and international contracts, which resulted in deals won over Staples and the Bank of Caracas in Venezuela. Developed a Quick Ship program, which guaranteed five day delivery.Vice-President Sales and Marketing, 1987 to 1989 Hired and managed the direct sale force. Developed a national sales strategy setting marketing goals and budgets, which were carried over when I became CEO. Planned and designed all trade show exhibits.
