    RESPLANDOR INTERNATIONAL serves as a cultural and educational center dedicated to promote social and economic development through education in Guanajuato, Mexico. Faculty and students from the University of Arizona are the inspiration behind the idea of providing educational services to children, women, and families. The mission of Resplandor is to improve the quality of life by providing educational programs, services, and professional development activities that build capacity in underserved populations and communities. By offering specialized training and educational services on behalf of underserved populations, Resplandor’s goal is to maximize human potential and to enhance social and economic development in those communities. Summerland supports these values and has helped to physically build Resplandor, done their accounting, set up programs, helped with caretakers problems, loaned a truck and numerous other types of equipment, brought books and other supplies from the USA and MX to donate, helped with volunteer labor needs, driven visiting people to/from the site, and generally been of service to the program.
