Responsible for managing major meetings, trade shows and events for the Grass Valley division of Thomson. Originally, Grass Valley Group until purchased by Thomson in 2002. Activities included but were not limited to: Managing the world wide meeting customer events and trade show activities o Hotel selection for sales meetings, show hotelso Site inspections, contract negations, invitations, rooming lists, on-site logistics o Insuring consistent corporation branding and positioning o Coordinating the development of all graphics and meeting materialso Coordinated all the aspects to the booth – staff, booth design/properties, show services, transportation, etc.o Dealt with any union issues Budget management from the yearly planning to execution of the evento Average budget per year was $5M for up to 100 shows and events Writing RFPs (Request For Purchase) for equipment rentals/purchases, contract labor and capital investments o Negotiating contracts and capital investment purchases Maintaining excellent vendor relations to leverage company assets Advertising in show daily’s, industry magazines, etc. to promote our products at the events E-marketing to prospect and customer data base Served on the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) exhibitor advisory board for six years. Was serving as chairman at the time that I left Grass Valley.
