    Maintained the Bell Atlantic ICSC (Interexchange Carrier Service Center) Reporting System (BAIRS) which was a part of the Carrier Access Billing System (CABS).The system uses an IMS Mainframe database system and it interfaced rigorously with the other CABS billing systems (ASOP, CABS, EXACT, CBIC, ASRMECH). The scheduling was very intricate and demanding because my application was integrated with the scheduling of the 5 other applications noted above. The system consisted of 400+ online & batch jobs of both BMP, & DLI types. BAIRS took in data from the 5 other systems and, through processing, created 12 FOCUS master files. Twelve files were necessary because we had 3 geographic regions and 4 separate reporting subsystems (PERT, SOMS CLAIMS & COLLECT). The systems ran batch jobs creating FOCUS reports from the master files. The reports were printed on Laser printers, IMS printers and also inserted into IMS online databases. Started a documentation system for planning and coordinating releases that I installed.Updated all programs from OS/VS COBOL to COBOL for OS/390, using language extension (LE), bypassing many that were in various stages of COBOL II conversion.Directed 2 contractors who were hired on the project temporarily.Taught a new college hire and brought her up to speed so she could take over the system.Achieved CMM level 2

    Maintained the Plug-in Inventory Control System/Detailed Continuing Property Record, (PICS/DCPR), an IMS on-line database system with numerous batch messaging programs (BMP) jobs. The majority of the source code was maintained by Bellcore, now Telcordia.Interfaced with clients, analyzing and solving their problems with printers, scheduling, control cards, abends & other job problems.Updated system, programmer, and client documentation. Kept records of ad hoc procedures run for clients.Helped to consolidate operations from 3 platforms to one, permitting 2 programmer/analysts in 1996 to do the job of 9 P/A's in 1989 when I arrived.Made some IMS D/B COBOL program changes.Changed JCL, scheduled and documented the production jobs in RIMDOC.Tested new jobs, converting vendors to EDI corporate processing.Executed special projects for Bellcore and the clients.Assisted in installing new releases.

Developed system enhancements that included changing from ISAM to VSAM files, flow charting and standardizing operations, and combining programs for greater efficiency.Developed and programmed database systems using dBASE III+.Developed and programmed an online ship maintenance and alterations system consisting of approximately 20 on-line programs written in COBOL utilizing DATACOM DB/DC.Developed, with a team of 10 programmers and analysts, a large VSAM data base project, the first in the company.
