    The mission of the BECIUS is to be a catalyst for the economic and social advancement the Canton Sarajevo and BiH society by stimulating economic growth, modernization and prosperity through the exploitation of research outputs and innovative ideas that are generated at the universities or can be acquired through technology transfer, and to be a vehicle for technology assimilation, adaptation, customization and diffusion into BiH society. Goal of BECIUS: To become a point of initiation of local technological oriented companies, exchange of new technologies, point of ideas concentration, then the activation of local potentials. The Business Excellence Center of IUS will provide a wide range of training activities on specialized and innovative subjects, addressed mainly to managers and technicians of Bosnian firms. The high level of these activities will be due to the qualified experience and professional capabilities of its staff (university professors, managers, consultancy people, etc.). BECIUS will carry out projects for the implementation of new concept of the FAB-LAB which will be address to the introducing of modern technologies and their application in domestic companies as well as to the reduction of the environmental impact of products according to the sustainability concepts. The target group will be at least 200 existing companies from manufacturing and ICT sectors registered in the all Bosnia and Herzegovina. The benefits for BiH will be significant as all local actors will be introduced to best practices in applied modern industry. Weak spots of current system as well as possible failures in implementation of otherwise good and beneficial strategies will be identified and addressed. This will provide a platform for future activity towards triple-helix model and collaboration with innovative start-ups. Also, during beginning stage both formal and informal contacts will be made and this can prove very beneficial in the long run.
