Amtrak Gateway Project Conceptual Studies, Penn Station New York: project manager for preliminary track alignment design and conceptual engineering studies for planning of two new tunnels under the Hudson River from the NEC (Northeast Corridor) in New Jersey to New York Penn Station. Large portion of my experience was gained during more than 26 years with National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak), where I served in several key engineering management positions, most recently as Assistant Vice President Engineering in the office the Vice President/Chief Engineer. In that role, my responsibilities included direct supervision of the Deputy Chief Engineers in the areas of track, communications and signals, structures/facilities, electric traction and fire and life safety. These departments consisted of over 300 management and 1,200 agreement (force account, construction) employees. The value of the programs and projects under my jurisdiction exceeded $300 million annualy. Prior to this position, other roles at AMTRAK included Deputy Chief Engineer, Structures/Facilities; Senior Director Structures/Facilities Design; Director Structures/Facilities Design, Manager Bridges and Tunnels; Engineer Bridges and Structural Engineer.
