      I participated in a global internship program through the University of California, Berkeley study abroad. This program involved moving abroad to Barcelona, Spain for 8 weeks where I studied the culture and had an internship. The internship was at a local company, ITC dosing, where they design and manufacture pumps. These pumps are designed around precision and are used in agriculture and water management around the world. I worked here for 8 weeks and in that time I was tasked with developing a new cylinder design for the pumps so that they can have a pressure sensor installed on the inside of the cylinder, allowing for sensor readings throughout the pump cycle. This was a challenge because the design had to be completely water resistant, resistant to many chemicals used in fertigation, as well as removable. During this very brief 8 week process I was set to create a design from scratch, 3D print the design, write software for it, and test it all. In the end I had a functioning product that, with some more long term testing, may end up implemented into the market.
