Help for Heroes Volunteer in the County of Worcestershire.

Nov 2007 - Present

Worcestershire
I have been volunteering for this fine charity in the County of Worcestershire since November 2007,and one of the first recipients of the Hero Award "For Outstanding Support".A few Key facts:97% of funding comes directly from the public.97 & 18 years old - The oldest and youngest recipients of direct H4H grants.Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 to provide direct and practical support to serving and veteran members of the Armed Forces who have suffered serious physical or mental injury either on operations or during training. The support is provided through grants to individuals and other Service charities.Due to the economic impact of the pandemic the four H4H Recovery Centres have been taken over by the MOD. However the charity continues to offer all of its recovery support service to Veterans and loved ones either in their own communities or digitally. This includes Sports, Activities and Fellowship, Grants, Welfare and Case Management, Hidden Wounds, Clinical(physical) Support and the only veterans specific Recovery College in the U.K.Re Cooperation - Help for Heroes is actively working with other military charities to see how they can provide better services and share information enabling them to do so together. The aim is that the beneficiaries only have to tell their story once and once captured it can be shared in confidence with all other charities supporting their recovery. Two of the charities H4H are closely working with are Blind Veterans and BLESMA.To make a donation or secure details of the complete services provided by H4H please go to www.helpforheroes.org.uk
