    Prepaid Experts is a master distributor of cell phones and prepaid cell-time plans with annual revenue of $23 million. The company was recently sold and will cease operations at the end of April 2013. I am responsible for the financial and accounting functions. The following are some of my accomplishments:• Organized the accounting department, hired and trained new personnel.• Improved cash management by consolidating several bank accounts, initiated the use of money market accounts for short-term investment and paid off the line of credit. This produced income while significantly reducing bank service charges.• Implemented several operational procedures that reduced credit risk and improved reporting.• Assisted the Director of Sales in developing a new commissions plan that improved goal attainment.• In addition to the standard accounting statements I produced many different reports that showed the company’s profitability in the different lines of operation.

I’m responsible for managing the accounting and financial functions. My responsibilities include: • Manage daily cash flow, borrowing and investment. Negotiated with bank appropriate line of credit and loan terms. • Developed concise and informative management reports. • Coordinate the annual audit. Assist in tax planning by projecting and reporting income in both accrual and cash basis. • Supervise accounting and HR staff. Implemented policies and procedures to improve internal control. • Select and purchase all insurance policies and employee benefit plans

    Responsibilities included management and supervision of the accounting, human resources and data processing functions. Control Cable, Inc. manufactures cable assemblies and distributes networking components. Also responsible for the accounting functions of Computer Cable Installation, Co., an independent affiliated company. The companies have 55 employees and combined annual revenue of approximately $8 million. My responsibilities included the functions described in my current job above. Additionally: • Established freight policy and negotiated freight discount programs with carriers. Developed guidelines for the integration of our company’s software system with the information system of our major freight carrier. This enabled the company to automate freight billing and obtain tracking information. • Supervised credit staff. Directly negotiated credit and/or payment terms for extraordinary situations. Participated in creditor’s committee after a large customer filed for bankruptcy protection. • Selected and administered employee benefit plans. Implemented a Section 125 plan and redesigned health insurance plan benefits resulting in substantial cost reduction and improved employee morale. • Established and administered 401(k) plan. • Headed team for selection and implementation of new data processing system (hardware and software). Negotiated a multiple year maintenance contract with software vendor with very favorable terms. • Involved in the selection and acquisition of all major office equipment such as computers, telephone and voice mail systems, copiers etc. This includes maintenance contracts as well.
