As the National Human Resources Planning Adviser with the Government of Kiribati Public Service Office, I was responsible for providing technical and advisory support to the Government of Kiribati’s public service, in developing its human resources modernisation/reform plans and improving the human resources policies, recruitment & selection process, workforce planning, performance management, capacity development activities, and staff training & professional development activities and reviewing and improving current civil service National Condition of Service (NCS).

PRAN was an initiative of the Australian Government and the Pacific Island Forum Secretariat to modernise the public service by strengthening the machinery of government and enhancing the human resources capacity and capability in line with the Nauru National Sustainable Development Strategy (NSDS) medium term development strategy (MTDS) priorities. Reporting directly to the Chief Secretary who is the head of the Nauru Public Service, the position is responsible for the development and implementation of improved human resource management strategies within the Nauru Public Service by aligning HR operational activities to National Sustainable Development Strategy (NSDS) document MTDS priorities.
