    o As Duty manager, I am responsible for day and night shifts, including weekends. I manage staff across both pubs and help to train new members. When new members start, I shadow them on their first few shifts and use a personally devised training manual to help them learn and progress. Whilst the manager of The Cartwheel Inn was away, I covered the managerial role and was responsible for ordering stock, cooking meals, working behind the bar and all administrative duties, including cashing up at the end of the night. o As Events Manager, I have helped to organise several events, including a beer festival which was very successful. In addition to this, I have worked closely with the head chef to introduce food themed evenings with entertainment for the customers. My most recent event was a German themed Christmas Market. The aim of this event was to raise money for charity, boost profits and promote local businesses. It was a very successful event which raised money for Macmillan Cancer and doubled our regular taking for a Friday evening.

    o As part of my studies at Buckinghamshire New University I worked at Trunkwell House near Reading. I helped organise and run the weddings throughout the months of April and May which enabled me to gain valuable skills which are transferable to other aspects of the event industry. I did a variety of duties, from showing couples around the venue, to hiring contractors, to designing and setting up on the day.
