Assist the Director of Diversity and Workforce strategies in guiding the city of Minneapolis in its effort to 1) create, institutionalize, and monitor diversity program and workforce development in the city; 2) stay in compliance with all the Federal employment laws, State statutes, and city ordinance regarding staffing and training, et cetera; and 3) assist city department heads in their strategic efforts to diversify their respective employee groups. Additionally, I serve on 1) staffing committees 2) oral interview panels, workforce planning committee, and some cross-functional or inter-departmental project committees. Further, I prepared and file all the required EEO-4 reports with federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Federal Department of Justice. Furthermore, I work with various communities, whenever necessary, to review and address diversity issues in city employment.

Performed workforce analysis - reviewed on an annual basis each city department's workforce, identify where there was under-utilization (gap between availability figures from Bureau of Labor statistics and each department's workforce figure) and then set affirmative action goals for the departments to assist them in closing the gaps. Investigated discrimination in employment throughout city's 25 departments, and made recommendations, depending on the outcome of each investigation. Additionally, I prepared quarterly and yearly AA statistical reports for the city department heads and the city Council members to assess the grogress being by each city department, and settlements arrived at, including associated payouts.
