Established in 1938 to insure farmers against devastating crop losses from hail, the corporation has grown and evolved into a diverse organization with several core businesses: crop insurance; livestock price insurance, lending to primary agriculture producers; commercial lending and farm income disaster assistance. AFSC operates from over 50 offices across the Province of Alberta. AFSC has revenues in excess of $1 Billion and employs over 700 people. During Harry's tenure as Chair, the corporation was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers in four consecutive years – 2010 through 2013.
