    I spent 14 months as a Genetic Technologist at Oncologica Ltd which was the first UKAS approved Day 2 and Day 8 COVID-19 test and sequencing provider in the UK. I initially carried out RNA extractions and RT-PCR for the first four months, then I joined the NGS team in March. I then regularly sequenced the SARS-CoV-2 variants and oncology tissue samples using semiconductor NGS technology.

    I gained a year’s experience in the Pharmacy Quality Control department, in both the Chemistry and Microbiology subdepartments. This included regular utilisation of GMP and GDP with documentation control including SOPs and calibration certificates. My role was to ensure Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Units were abiding by MHRA guidelines by undertaking environmental monitoring tests, pH tests and Radiochemical Purity (RCP) testing.
