In this position I started a solid waste collection company, Pelican Commercial Waste Services, for its industrial based parent company, Environmental Operators, LLC. Having had a long term relationship with the company's owners I proposed the need to expand their waste collection business both geographically and to commercial markets. Starting out with two used trucks, I was responsible for developing a company image, purchasing equipment, marketing, managing sales, and coordinating initial operations. Though I left the employ of the firm I remained the in-situ consultant for all marketing and strategic planning.I executed the sale of this company in behalf of the owner to Waste Pro of Orlando, FL. My efforts included finding a suitable buyer, making contact and initiating discussion, through performing the sales due diligence. The Pelican brand has been discarded though the company continues to thrive as a division of a super-regional waste collection service, with operations throughout the New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and North Shore region.
