    I have been working on site at Exxon's UK headoffice in Leatherhead since October 2014. I started as a Manpower employee contracted to Exxon and as of June 2021 I transferred to the employ of HCL Technologies UK who became Exxon's global service provider for all IT services and support though my role transferred and did not change.I am an IT support contact for the users located on site within a facility called the IT Solution Centre where users can dripminnto seek assistance for any IT related requirements, issues, support and basic training or just to have a chat with their friendly IT guys.My role is varied with a focus on ensuring that the highest possible service standards are met.We offer problem resolution for all mobile devices including iOS devices and laptops. Systems support, configuration and installations and deskside support from moves and changes to hardware support.Support of remote (home based) users is also required. I am also responsible for providing network support in and out of hours for the Leatherhead site and other sites within the area.We also offer support for the projects teams and third line support teams located in other regions.We are the heart of the IT support within the office and attract a lot of demand from the users.I have learnt a great deal about the Exxon IT ways and this has been invaluable when helping customers who need extra help when navigating the IT Services systems.We have recently seen the ticketing system we use migrated to Service Now which has brought about some new learning challenges so that I can ensure I can continue to offer help to users who are trying to familiarise themselves with the new system.The role has been rewarding and enjoyable and allowed me to build some strong relationships and a good reputation within the user community and my peers alike.I am now helping to onboard new team members since the transition to HCL.

    My primary responsibilities initially were as a Project Coordinator and Resource Manager. However in the 3.5 years I worked there the role changed and expanded to include procurement and supplier management, management reporting, maintaining and managing project budget sheets and resource utilisation.I worked within the project delivery team and supported a team of 3 project managers as well as providing support to the data centre team, accounts department and support dept and other areas of the business.I also managed the small works orders that had no Project Management necessity but still needed to be coordinated and overseen, I also managed for a time any small orders (requests for any IT kit under a certain value) that could be easily processed and closed without need of any coordination or management.I managed a small works process/system that was in place for the companies largest client which involved the support of the resident and contracted engineers, being customer facing with the customer, processing and assigning their requests and monitoring the financial aspects, reporting into the accounts team upon their completion for billing and closure. The role required input into all areas of the company including the Management, service desk and accounts team. Data reporting for management and financial statistics was also a part of the role.

    I worked on site on behalf of NCR and Dell working in Exxon's Links Deployment team on site at Exxon's UK head Office in Leatherhead.Using Dell's DAD tool I staged new laptop and desktop equipment setting them up for data migration or new deployments as required. I then migrated users' settings and data from their legacy assets to their new machines.Working closely with the Links deployment team on site I also visited user's desks replacing their old port replicators for new or in the case of desktop users remove their old desktops and configure their desks for use with a laptop and port replicator.The role also involved an element of floor walking and technical support as well as direct liaison with the users and management of their issues/co-ordination with the assigned tech support teams to get issues resolved.I also was responsible for data wiping the old legacy assets and ensuring they were signed into the XOM desktop team for safe disposal.
